Honda's new zero-emission, hydrogen fuel cell car rolled off a Japanese production line Monday and is headed to Southern California, where Hollywood is already abuzz over the latest splash in green motoring.
The FCX Clarity, which runs on hydrogen and electricity, emits only water and none of the noxious fumes believed to induce global warming. It is also two times more energy efficient than a gas-electric hybrid and three times that of a standard gasoline-powered car, the company says.
Honda said the new FCX Clarity had a fuel efficiency three times that of modern petrol-powered cars.
The FCX Clarity is capable of traveling about 270 miles before refueling,* a reasonable distance for most people. When you do need fuel, it’s easy and safe to do at one of the designated hydrogen refueling stations in your area. The fill-up only takes a few minutes.
Vehicles that use hydrogen with fuel cell technology instead of gasoline are the cleanest around because they emit only water vapor into the air we breathe. These cars simply do not pollute. They can also use hydrogen from domestic energy sources, reducing our dependence on oil. And driving fuel cell vehicles significantly reduces the amount of carbon dioxide emissions, helping to slow the increase in greenhouse gases.

Toyota Camry(07) VS Honda Accord(08)
Head to Head
Wow... such a competitive industry from both honda and toyota!!! Automotive industry such looks great..
Last year when Toyota introduced its seventh generation Camry, the SE V-6 version(mightiest of all the Camries...) promptly laid claim as the most powerful and quickest!! The new benchmark of toyota!!!
Honda's Accord, then in the final year of its seventh generation, was a stellar sedan in its own right. But in light of the new Camry, its age was beginning to show. As a company that prides itself on innovation, Honda is never happy when its most important model can be described as aged. For 2008, the tide has changed, as the only thing old about the Accord is its name.
The Accord Sedan is available in six trim levels, while the sleek Accord Coupe comes in four trim levels. Two powerful engines are available, starting with two variations of the 2.4 liter 4-cylinder - one with 177 horsepower in LX models, the other with 190 horsepower in EX models. Either version can be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission for quick acceleration or a 5-speed automatic transmission with Grade Logic Control that optimizes shifts on climbs and descents. The most powerful engine ever offered in the Accord, the 3.5 liter V6 pumps out 268 horsepower with either a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission or the aforementioned 5-speed automatic, which features Variable Cylinder Management. VCM® shuts down one bank of engine cylinders while cruising to maximize fuel savings. The standard double wishbone front suspension provides predictable cornering feel and a smooth, stable ride.
